Strategic Recruitment Stream
Under the Strategic Recruitment Stream, you may be able to apply directly to AINP without needing an employer to support your application. The Strategic Recruitment Stream is for skills that are in demand in Alberta. This stream may be adjusted according to changes in Alberta’s labour market.
There are 3 categories in this stream in which the AINP is currently accepting applications. Each category has specific criteria which must be met. If your application meets the AINP criteria it will be eligible for consideration. If your application does not meet AINP criteria, it will be refused.
1. Compulsory and Optional Trades Category

The availability of AINP streams and categories is dependent upon application volumes and labour market needs. The AINP reserves the right to close application intake for any AINP stream or category at any time, without prior notice. AINP may decline to consider applications to closed or suspended streams or categories, regardless of when the applications were submitted.
The AINP is not obligated to assess or process applications submitted. Applications to the AINP are treated as an expression of interest, and will be processed according to quality of the application (completeness, eligibility), labour market information, occupational supply and demand forecasting, AINP application volumes, and / or any other factors in AINP’s discretion.
